About
Fit & Expectations
Helping families decide if Maker is the right program for their child.
Good fit if…
- Your child enjoys building things and figuring out how they work
- They are comfortable with trial and error — not everything works the first time
- They want to create things they can hold, demonstrate, and be proud of
- They are curious about electronics, motors, sensors, or how devices work
- They can focus on a hands-on project for extended periods
- They are open to learning from mistakes and iterating on their designs
Not ideal if…
- Your child prefers purely screen-based activities with no physical building
- They get frustrated quickly when something doesn't work and want to move on
- They are looking for a drop-in activity with no progression or commitment
- They expect pre-built kits with step-by-step instructions and guaranteed outcomes
- They are not comfortable working with small components, wires, or tools
What we do not promise
- We do not promise every child will love every project — some domains click more than others
- We do not provide pre-packaged kits — students build from components, which takes more time
- We do not guarantee competition readiness — Maker is a build program, not a competition prep program
- We do not publish full curriculum materials — our content framework is public, but lesson details stay internal
- We do not replace school science or technology classes — Maker is a supplementary engineering experience
